Our Story
Acting UP was founded in 2012 by Rhnea Ausmus and a dynamite team of dedicated volunteers. Rhnea's dream for Acting UP was to become a dramatic arts ministry that spread the love of Christ through theater. She wanted all people to feel welcomed into a community that was safe and enriching. She started with the classic Stephen Swartz production of Godspell and it was a smashing success, Acting UP was off to the races. Today Acting UP thrives because of its volunteers and dedicated patrons. We have performed sold-out shows of Bye Bye Birdie, The Sound of Music, Steel Magnolias, Mary Poppins, Barefoot in the Park, Oscar and Felix, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown and so many more.
Auditions are open to all people of all experience levels.
Acting UP is also available to our church and the greater body of Christ to share the love of Christ through the Dramatic Arts. We have performed at Church Anniversary celebrations, student ministry events, children's ministry events, and more.
"Acting UP became a crucial part of my healing. They are not just another theater, they are family. Being a grandmother with no theater background, this ministry welcomed me, trained me, loved me, and gave me a purpose and a place to serve. "
~ Diane Greene
